"Everest" Director reviews intense shoot

The chief of Jake Gyllenhaal's mountain motion picture "Everest," Baltasar Kormakur, says the cast overcame torrential slides, the world s most perilous air terminal and solidified nostrils to shoot the film around a bound 1996 climbing campaign.

"We were at the most perilous airplane terminal on the planet in Nepal. A helicopter smashed while we were there," reviewed Kormakur.

"We had our film gear on yaks and jackasses and helicopters dropping off (supplies) like in Vietnam... there was more snow than in the most recent 100 years. We lost sets under torrential slides. In one emotional scene, Gyllenhaal's nostrils were solidified, his eyelids were solidified," he included.
